Description
AOC Mont-sur-Rolle Grand Cru, dry Viognier
It was like love at first sight when I had the first taste of this wine, in its region of origin, Condrieu (Vienne/Lyon). The young plants I took home and planted here seem to enjoy to be on the shore of the Lake of Geneva. It is a variety that doesn’t yield much, however. While it is maturing in its used barrel for twelve months, it develops distinct aromas of peach and apricot. A truly exceptional wine.
Goes well with shell fish and seafood as well as desserts and is also very appreciated as an aperitif drink.
Ideally serve at: 12-13°C.
Ageing potential: 3 to 4 years after buying.
